Bartender (Tunica)

Grade:

The Bartender is responsible to prepare and serve cocktails to servers and/or guests.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS



  • Greet and converse with guests and servers to suggest or receive cocktail order.

  • Acknowledge every guest with a prompt and friendly greeting

  • Prepare and serve cocktails to servers and guests following departmental guidelines.

  • Clean and organize bar to beverage department standards.

  • Prepare order to replenish stock at bar to pre-determined par levels.

  • Provide exceptional service to guests.

  • Following departmental cash handling, credit card, room charge and comp policies and procedures.

  • Maintain high standards in quality of drinks and service.

  • Clean and organize work station to beverage and health department standards

  • Be able to perform tasks that require standing and/or moving at a fast pace for periods of up to eight hours or longer.

  • Work station must be maintained and left stocked and cleaned for next shifts

  • Maintain fresh garnishes for all drinks.

  • Ensure correct health and sanitation practices are followed

  • Ensure the correct glassware/stemware is used according to Beverage Department standards

  • Answer all questions that relate to Gold Strike correctly and professionally

  • Work scheduled special events which may require double shifts

  • Assist new employees with training and answering questions

  • Check ID's if the guest appears to be under 30

  • Replace dirty ashtrays by capping off ashtrays with a clean ashtray

  • React to the needs of management for special host requests

  • Inform management of any problems or concerns

  • Communicate with Management to keep them informed of all special requests from a guest.

  • Answer telephone using the Gold Strike telephone etiquette standards

  • Check product levels and expiration dates.

  • Maintain professional grooming and appearance standards required by the Beverage Department

  • Perform other duties assigned by management

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


High School Diploma or equivalent and one-year bartending experience in a high volume hotel/casino or nightclub setting or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

CARES Card


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:



  • Knowledge of ABC laws

  • Must maintain CARES card

  • Pleasing personality and ability to communicate with customers.?

  • Knowledge of events within resort, bars and lounges

  • Knowledge of wine, beer and spirits

  • Knowledge of health, safety and sanitation procedures

  • Knowledge of events within resort, bars and lounges

  • Must possess good recall and memory

  • Must be able to speak, read and write English


PHYSICAL DEMAND:



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly standing, walking, listening, and speaking.

  • Constantly walking distances up to 500 ft.

  • Frequently using wrist motion, dexterity, and eye-hand coordination, reaching, twisting and balancing.

  • Frequently carrying up to 40 lbs.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work performed in indoor and outdoor environments with occasional hot and cold temperature changes. Employee will be required to stand on concrete floors, tiles/mats and walk on uneven or wet surfaces in confined spaces. Employee will be exposed to secondhand smoke. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS:


Requires 100% flexibility. Holidays, weekends and special events will be required. Must be able to attend mandatory beverage training classes.


 

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
