Houseperson (Tunica)


The Houseperson is responsible to establish and maintain cleanliness of assigned areas in the Hotel and Casino according to Gold Strike standards.


  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned guest room corridors.

  • Vacuum corridors.

  • Clean and maintain linen closet and restrooms of assigned floors.

  • Clean and stamp ashtrays.

  • Empty trash and dirty linen from Guest Room Attendants? carts.

  • Deliver Guest Room Attendants? supplies as needed.

  • Clean corridor light fixtures and baseboards.

  • Perform daily inventory on linen closets.

  • Pull furniture, edge vacuum and flip mattresses in assigned rooms.

  • Other duties as assigned.

High School diploma or equivalent and minimum one-year housekeeping or general cleaning experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.




  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of machine/equipment/chemicals used for cleaning.

  • Able to lift up to 100lbs.??

  • Knowledge of basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills.

  • Able to work under pressure at a rapid pace.

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly walking between various areas of the property.

  • Constantly bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, and lifting.

  • Frequently using wrist motion, dexterity, eye-hand coordination,

  • Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 150 lbs.


Work performed indoors and outdoors, Employee may be exposed to chemicals, dust, secondhand smoke, and hot and cold temperatures. Employee will be required to balance and reach at varying heights. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


Regular scheduled hours. Must be flexible if needed for occasional work outside of normal business hours.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
